My name is Elijah Gomez at the time that I'm writing this I'm currently 24 years old. I am a student at Governors State University looking to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Communications. Once I am able to graduate I would like to successfully land a job in either the television or radio industry. Before coming to work at the center for food equity in medicine I worked as a television personality within the sports department at the university that I am currently attending. While my current academic pursuits are centered on communications, my foundational experiences stem from a multifaceted background encompassing various domains, each contributing to a unique and adaptable skill set. i have always had a passion for helping people and assisting others when needed which is why I believe that working within the food equity sector is such a great fit for my personality and the person I want to become. I have always considered myself to be a cheerful person which is why I believe working in the field of communications suits me best.

I did take some time off between graduating high school and attending college but I do believe that I am in a great place within my education. while taking a gap year away from school I was able to learn a lot about myself and the things that I value within my day to day life. Additionally if you add covid as a factor on top of that and I truly got to spend some time to evaluate what I wanted to do. With that being said, I am very happy and thankful for the position that I am in now. As it is a chance to put myself in the position that I want to be in.

I'm very excited and honored to have the opportunity to work here at the Center for Food Equity medicine. as I feel it not only Provides me with much needed job experience but it could also give me the opportunity to further my communication skills as I pursue my communications degree. One example that I can provide Is having often phone calls or virtual meetings with the people that I have to be in contact with. To elaborate, the dynamic interplay within a team-oriented setting, fostered by active engagement with my colleagues, has generated invaluable insights regarding the intricate attributes of influential communication, thereby refining my capacity to adeptly manage interpersonal connections and effectively address intricate issues within a particular setting.
