Dr. Sarah A. Birken

Sarah Birken is an Associate Professor in the Department of Implementation Science in the School of Medicine and a Member of Wake Forest Baptist Health’s Comprehensive Cancer Center at Wake Forest University. Dr. Birken’s research focuses on translating innovations in cancer care into practice.

Dr. Birken serves on the board of the Center for Food Health Equity in Medicine because she believes that food is cancer care. Dr. Birken’s research has focused on improving access to care for breast cancer survivors, with a focus on understanding how organizations can be designed for equitable access to high-quality care.
